At the age of nine, she won her first acting role and at that moment decided to become an actress. Although there were no local theatres or drama schools, she took it upon herself to study screenplays, ancient drama and comedy.
When she was eighteen, she moved to Rome and she joined the Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Her career started immediately: Giulia Carla has played alongside many famous actors and actresses in the most important theatres in Italy, including Piccolo (Milan), Siracusa Theatre and Castle Maschio Angioino (Naples), and the Amphitheatre of Segesta and many other theatres in Rome.
She has starred in the Italian TV series (Carabinieri – Mediaset), and in several films: In Nomine Satan, Il Compagno Americano, Eden, and La Guerra dei Corti and has also appeared in short movies, including Effetto Domino, Abdul Cerca Casa, Stop, and A Careful Man Dies.
Giulia Carla has studied as a Director, Events Organiser, Producer, Camera Operator and Editor. She has directed music videos and short movies - Monnalisa, Ma quanti Amici su Facebook, and The ballad of the Silver Dressed Lady.
She organised Il Cantagiro - considered to be one of the most important musical shows in Italy and which was first performed in 1961. Since 2006 she has been associated with Margot Produzioni, SRL, a company that has produced multiple TV series, short movies and music videos. She is also a writer, authoring a short story in the book 'Brividi a Roma'.
Additionally, she has collaborated - under a pseudonym -in many other published books that have been widely distributed in bookshops in Italy. Since November 2012 Giulia Carla has been living in London.
